SPD Technology is a global software product and AI-native development company with over 650 professionals and delivery centers across Europe. Since 2006, we’ve partnered closely with startups, SMBs, and blue-chip organizations, including PitchBook, Morningstar, Blackhawk Network, Space Needle, and Axcess, to turn ambitious ideas into software that holds up in the real world. 

AI is increasingly embedded in how we build, with certified engineers working alongside AI agents across the full lifecycle – from planning and architecture to code, testing, review, and release. Our verification-first approach treats AI-generated code as something to be proven, not simply trusted, helping teams accelerate delivery without compromising reliability, security, and maintainability. We apply AI-assisted and traditional engineering approaches based on what delivers the best results for each engagement.

An IT professional with 25 years of industry experience and two master’s degrees (Computer Science and Business Administration), Bogdan has worked his way up from QA and Java developer to Project manager. In 2004, he met Alex, with whom they founded the company in 2006 with an absolute focus on clients’ success. From the very first days, his main focus has been on business development and helping his colleagues grow and realize their potential. In addition to work, he enjoys playing football (soccer) and is a father of two children.

Oleksandr started his career as Java developer in 2004 and worked his way up from Team Lead to PM roles in different companies, which is how he eventually met Bogdan; in 2006, they decided to build their own company, SPD, together. Since then, Oleksandr has focused on strategic management, business development and building partnerships with clients. He received his business education at Edinburgh Business School and Kyiv-Mohyla Business School. Traveling and natural science possess a special place among Oleksandr’s hobbies.

  • SPD Technology expanded growth in Europe by launching an office in Bucharest, Romania, strengthening our delivery footprint and proximity to key markets.
  • We secured partnerships with OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS and other leading organizations to reinforce our Cloud and AI/ML capabilities and raise our delivery excellence standards.
  • We launched the AIvangelist program to build and enhance AI literacy and promote responsible, production-grade AI adoption across the company.

Large corporations have acquired NimbleCommerce and PitchBook. That meant huge and rapid growth for SPD.

Team and company grew. New clients came via the recommendation and were interested in partnership for developing of promising products.

Very soon, Bogdan and Oleksandr realized that the strategy needed to be changed and started looking for opportunities to work with foreign clients. They met a client from California with Slavic roots, thus brought them to the partnership with Pitchbook.

It was Oleksandr’s hometown, and the first time the company dealt only with local clients.

At the time, as Java developers, they had already worked for several companies and were not satisfied with the experience they had gained. The inner desire to do much better brought them to the idea to build their own company in a completely different way.
