Now we are looking for a Middle Software Development Engineer in Test for PitchBook.
About the role
You will join the team dedicated to developing and maintaining systems for efficient data management. Our team is responsible for backend tools and platforms that facilitate the creation, updating, and support of data feeds. This includes extracting, transforming, and loading PitchBook data into various file formats.
PitchBook is an analytical platform designed for investment professionals. It aggregates data from various sources, presenting it in a user-friendly manner. The platform is invaluable to anyone operating in the financial market — whether it’s startups, large corporations, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, market analysts, or others. Our Engineering team is continuously growing and enhancing our technical landscape. We’ve completed the migration to Kubernetes in production and are now focusing on optimizing its use and adopting new managed services. From a process perspective, we’re finalizing the transition to Team Topologies and a Scrum-based Agile framework, empowering our teams to become more autonomous. We’re also fostering a strong One-Team mentality across the organization.

Methodology
Scrum-based Agile. Flexible schedule. The team is required to attend scrum events. The time zone is Europe/Kyiv.
As a qualified expert, You will:
- Work autonomously on challenging projects.
- Take ownership of the automated QA process, including API tests, end-to-end tests, smoke tests, and integration tests.
- Create in-depth automation scripts for testing.
- Automate regression testing.
- Generate automated test data.
- Gather and analyze test reports.
- Identify opportunities for automation.
- Actively participate in Scrum events.
- Contribute to planning and design processes.
- Assist with debugging
We’re looking for you if you have
- 3+ years in Backend Development and/or Automated Testing
- Good understanding of the Java technology stack: Java, Spring Boot, JUnit, Mockito.
- Experience with Docker, docker-compose, and TestContainers.
- Experience with API testing (REST, OpenAPI, GRPC*) using tools like Swagger, Postman, and Curl.
- Strong knowledge of SQL.
- Ability to identify bottlenecks and thresholds in existing code using automation tools.
- High level of responsibility and autonomy in your work.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- English — Intermediate (B1 and above), Ukrainian — fluent (both spoken and written).
Bonus Points
- Understanding the microservice architecture and cloud solutions.
- Experience with UI testing tools and frameworks.
- Experience with the BDD, load, and performance testing.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
