We are looking for a Middle+ Java Engineer preferably with a strong understanding of front-end technologies for PitchBook.

About the role

Join our engineering team to participate in a challenging technical project. You will be working in the team, which encompasses several critical functions:

  • Email Delivery: Ensuring the efficient and rapid delivery of both user-facing and transactional emails. This includes optimizing email campaigns for deliverability and managing high-load distributed systems.
  • Data Representation: Handling the creation and management of document representations of data in various formats such as PDF, Excel, and PNG. This responsibility extends to providing comprehensive enterprise file data presentation for download.

As an Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining both the Back-End services and Front-End ecosystem, implementing shared UI components for use by other teams, and decoupling UI components from a monolithic Front-End repository into dedicated Micro Frontends (MFEs) as shared components.

Java 17/21, Kotlin, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, k8s, FluxCD, OpenAPI, Kafka, SendGrid, Terraform, GitLab CI, React, TypeScript, NestJS, Gradle.

Methodology

Scrum-based Agile.

As a qualified expert, You will:

  • Develop, and maintain backend services and APIs owned by the team;
  • Provide support for other team’s requests for the development of new features;
  • Monitoring, and performance tuning of Kafka messaging system to deliver 2.5m+ emails daily;
  • Development and support of the shared UI components;
  • Generation of Office documents (Excel, Word, PDF) with large amounts of data.

We’re looking for you if you have:

  • 4+ years of experience in Back-End software development;
  • Strong knowledge of Java Core, Java 17/Java 21;
  • Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot 2/3;
  • Good knowledge of microservices concepts;
  • Strong knowledge of SQL;
  • Experience with Message Brokers – Kafka;
  • English — upper-intermediate (B2 and above), Ukrainian — fluent (both spoken and written).

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Kotlin programming language;
  • Experience with Kubernetes;
  • Experience with Front-End (HTML, CSS, ES6+, TS, React, Redux);
  • Experience with unit, integration testing (Jest, React Testing Library, MSW);
  • Experience with Nest.js;
  • Experience with SendGrid.
