Now we are looking for a Middle Java Engineer for the PitchBook project.

About the role

You will join the team that is leading the migration to the 3rd-party CMS, Brightspot, as part of our effort to scale. We are transitioning from a custom-built website platform to Brightspot, developing new UI modules and an integration layer between the two systems to meet diverse business needs. The team collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders, extending the capabilities of the 3rd-party CMS while also managing a data bridge between PitchBook subsystems and Brightspot. Our primary stakeholders are involved in marketing and lead generation, supporting editorial, marketing, and research teams that create content of varying complexity and for different purposes.

PitchBook is an analytical platform designed for investment professionals. It aggregates data from various sources, presenting it in a user-friendly manner. The platform is invaluable to anyone operating in the financial market — whether it’s startups, large corporations, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, market analysts, or others. Our Engineering team is continuously growing and enhancing our technical landscape. We’ve successfully completed the migration to Kubernetes in production and are now focusing on optimizing its use, while also adopting new managed services. From a process perspective, we’re finalizing the transition to Team Topologies and a Scrum-based Agile framework, empowering our teams to become more autonomous. We’re also fostering a strong One-Team mentality across the organization.

Technical stack:

Java 11/17, Dari, Spring Boot 2/3, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, GraphQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, OpenAPI, K8s, Solr, Grafana, DataDog.

Team:

Stream Development Lead, 3BE, 2FE, 2QA 

Methodology: Scrum-based Agile.

Flexible schedule. The team is required to attend scrum events: no late evening meetings (finish before 7 PM EET).

As a qualified expert, You will:

  • Implement new features, improve existing code, and investigate issues in production
  • Write unit/integration/e2e tests for your code
  • Conduct code reviews
  • Be responsible for the whole feature delivery, from requirements analysis to production deployment
  • Prepare your own technical solutions, and review and provide feedback on others
  • Develop a problem-solving mindset (not only write code but solve tasks)
  • Actively participate in Scrum events
  • Communicate effectively with teammates, other teams, and business representatives
  • Continuously improve knowledge and skills.

We’re looking for you if you have:

  • 4+ years of experience in web software development
  • Strong knowledge of Java Core, Java 11/Java 17
  • Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot 2/3
  • Basic knowledge of microservices concepts
  • Good knowledge of SQL
  • Experienced in writing comprehensive Unit and Integration tests
  • Familiar with and follow SOLID and KISS principles
  • Know and be able to use design patterns.
  • English — Intermediate (B1 and above), Ukrainian — fluent (both spoken and written).

Nice to have:

  • Good knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS
  • Good knowledge of GraphQL
  • Experience with Message Brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
  • Experience with Solr
  • Experience with OpenAPI
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Grafana and DataDog.
