Now we are looking for a Junior Java Engineer (with 1+ years of commercial experience) to join us as part of our team.

In this role, you will work with one of the system’s most interesting and dynamically developing parts: the search functionality. This functionality allows users to configure and run searches at any complexity level, represent search results in various variations (tables, pivots, charts, analytic tools), and save and download them. Work will include building new service functionality and improving or optimizing a large, complex, actively used application.

Team: Lead, 4BE, 4FE, 4QA, Product Owner, Engineering Manager, Product Manager

Technical stack: Java 17+, k8s, Spring/SpringBoot, Open API, PostgreSQL, Kafka, JUnit

Processes: Scrum-based Agile in Stream-Aligned Teams (Team Topologies)

Schedule: Flexible (with a need to attend team meetings).

As a qualified expert, You will:

  • Build a business logic for the search part of the product.
  • Write unit/integration/performance/e2e tests.
  • Create documentation for services/algorithms/functionality.
  • Participate in making technical decisions in the team, and code reviews.
  • Implement reliable solutions and integrations.
  • Communicate about requirements with team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in a distributed team.

We’re looking for you if you have:

  • 1+ years of experience in web application development, with a strong focus on server-side Java programming.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and popular design patterns, with a proven ability to apply them effectively in software development.
  • Proficiency in Spring framework, including experience with inversion of control (IoC) and model-view-controller (MVC) architecture.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, preferably with experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
  • A high level of responsibility, with a track record of delivering high-quality solutions on time and within scope.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Good written and verbal English skills.

Would be a plus:

  • Experience in developing RESTful APIs, demonstrating an understanding of REST principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures, enabling you to design efficient and scalable solutions to complex problems.

  • Experience in test creation (JUnit, integration, performance, etc.)
