We are looking for a Middle+/Senior Java Engineer to join us as part of our team.
About the project:
Big international company whose main business is related to gift cards and their functioning: issuing and distribution of cards, processing of payments, exchanging, refilling, etc. It also operates with many other types of digital content like eGIfts, incentive cards, promotions, rewards, etc. The company has several e-commerce sites and platforms that are helping to distribute the gift card products. Also the company has a bunch of own core services that perform all the management of gift cards and customers in the ecosystem.
Team Structure:
We are extending a distributed team consisting of Java engineers located mainly in the US and India. Team processes are going to be based on 2-weeks Scrum principles.
You’ll work with the following stack:
Back-end stack: AWS (EC2, SQS, SNS, S3, Lambda, Cloud Formation, Event Bridge and others), Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data, MySQL, MongoDB
Schedule:
Flexible. The usual time for team meetings is between 5 pm and 8 pm CET.
As a qualified expert, You will:
- Creating new Java services as part of the implementation of new functionality;
- Adding new features to existing core services;
- Creating reliable Rest APIs;
- Implementing automating monitoring and alerting;
- Modernization/refactoring of existing logic;
- Optimization of performance;
- Increasing the reliability and stability of the existing services.
Core services that will be part of the work:
- User management services;
- Identity management services;
- Order Management services;
- Event Management service.
We’re looking for you if you have:
- 5+ years of experience in Java software development, with a solid foundation in the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data) and JPA/Hibernate;
- Experience with DB: SQL strong, NoSQL basics, DB performance;
- Strong experience with Rest API, HTTP;
- Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems;
- Good knowledge of SOLID principles, DDD, Concurrency, CI/CD concepts;
- Git advanced user;
- Basics of Linux / Bash / SSH basics;
- Experience building solutions with high availability;
- Solid foundation in unit testing and knowledge of access and security protocols;
- Access & Security rules basics;
- Experience in integrations with 3rd party APIs;
- Skill of effective and proactive communication;
- Ability to analyze existing system and business logic;
- High level of personal responsibility;
- English — upper-intermediate (B2 and above), Ukrainian — fluent (both spoken and written).
Bonus Points:
Experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, etc.) or knowledge of DevOps tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
