About the project:

The big international company whose main business is related to gift cards and their functioning: issuing and distribution of cards, processing of payments, exchanging, refilling, etc. It also operates with many other types of digital content like eGifts, incentive cards, promotions, rewards, etc. The company has several e-commerce sites and platforms helping distribute the gift card products. Also, the company has core services that manage gift cards in the ecosystem.

Team

10 Engineers: 7 developers, 2 QA, 1 DevOps.

Most of the team is in California, with 2 full-stack engineers – in the EU.

Team processes – Scrum with 2 weeks sprints.

Work schedule: flexible, can be shifted to late hours if it’s Central EU (for example from 13-14:00 till 22-23:00).

Technical stack

Python, Django, React, MySQL, AWS, S3, RabbitMQ, Redis, Docker, Splunk, New Relic, Sentry.io, Grafana, Jenkins, Artifactory, BitBucket.

As a qualified expert, You will:

  • Owning the AWS-based infrastructure of a white-label e-commerce platform with 3 environments.
  • Writing and maintaining automation scripts.
  • Managing databases for reliability and performance.
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
  • Implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance.
  • Optimizing cloud resources for cost efficiency.
  • Monitoring system performance, and configuration of alerting.
  • Troubleshooting in case of infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
  • Creation of documentation.

We’re looking for you if you have:

  • 5+ years of DevOps experience.
  • 3+ years working with AWS.
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SSL/TLS, load balancing)
  • Experience working with such AWS services as VPC, EC2, ELB, ASG, S3, as well as awareness of other services AWS provides.
  • Experience in administration of Kubernetes and Docker (ECS, EKS).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and access control.
  • Experience working with “Infrastructure as Code” methodologies (CloudFormation).
  • Ability to create and modify scripts using one of the following: Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Bash.
  • Familiarity with modern monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Good understanding of databases SQL and noSQL (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB).
  • Experience in the configuration of CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, BitBucket.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, to be a creative problem solver.
  • Proactiveness in communication and proposing solutions.
  • English – upper-intermediate (B2 and above), Ukrainian – fluent (both spoken and written)

Would be plus:

  • Experience with the ELK stack, RabbitMQ, Redis.
  • Familiarity with Splunk, New Relic, Sentry.io
  • Familiarity with PCI DSS compliance
