Users all over the world include large corporations, start-ups, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, and many others.
As an Engineering Manager on the team, you will be responsible for providing software delivery capabilities by building and growing software engineering teams, supporting them during changes, enabling talents and forming productive relationships with the entire organization. You will utilize your extensive background for working with talented engineers and insightful product managers to build exceptional solutions relied upon by thousands of PitchBook customers (many of them have big names, and the team is proud to work for their needs). The teams operate at the intersection of data, platform engineering, and commercial enablement — ensuring that high-value data assets are reliably delivered to customers and strategic partners. The domain is currently in an expansion phase, focused on scaling and modernizing our Data API capabilities, deepening CRM integrations, and building next-generation integrations with AI partners. These initiatives enable new monetization channels, enhance customer workflows, and position PitchBook’s data within emerging AI-native ecosystems.

Team setup: Team 1 (Lead, 4 BE, 1 SDET), Team 2 (Lead, 2 BE, 1 FE, 1 SDET)
Work Environment: Schedule: Flexible hours with required attendance at team meetings. Collaboration: Close cooperation with Product, Enabling and Platform teams. Focus: Automation, performance, and scalability improvements.
As a qualified expert You will
- Proven engineering leadership experience managing multiple software/data engineering teams, ideally as an Engineering Manager or equivalent
- Strong people-management skills: coaching, performance management, conflict resolution and building/scaling teams
- Track record of delivery in agile, product-led environments, including capacity planning and prioritization
- Clear communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ownership mindset: focus on long-term quality and maintainability, not just delivery
We’re looking for you if you have
- Own engineering outcomes for Commercial Integrations teams
- Be accountable for engineering capabilities, velocity, quality, reliability and scalability for your teams
- Ensure engineering work is aligned with Commercial Integrations strategy and product roadmap
- Lead and grow engineers and SDE Leads
- Manage engineers and SDE Leads (coaching, feedback, growth, performance and compensation)
- Build and evolve teams: hiring, onboarding, shaping skill/seniority mix, and handling exits when needed
- Maintain healthy team dynamics and address people issues early
- Plan and manage capacity
- Own short- and long-term capacity and capability planning for your teams
- Surface capacity risks and drive mitigation (hiring, re-prioritization, internal moves, enabling teams)
- Ensure strong SDLC execution and technical quality
- Make sure teams execute effectively across the SDLC: refinement, design, estimation, implementation, testing, deployment and support
- Enforce engineering standards and non-functional requirements
- Partner with SDE Leads on solution design and architecture, involving Architecture / Platform / SRE Enablers where appropriate
- Optimize existing SDLC processes by integrating Generative AI tools
- Own product quality, reliability and operations
- Be ultimately responsible for stability, reliability, performance and overall quality of services your teams own
- Work with SDE Leads and enabling teams on observability, SLIs/SLOs and incident reduction
- Drive continuous improvement of technical health and operational excellence
- Strengthen ways of working and collaboration
- Evolve engineering practices in your teams (code review, CI/CD, testing, incident response, etc.)
- Partner closely with Product, Data and other domains to align plans and manage dependencies
- Contribute to domain-level planning with Senior EMs/Directors and support cross-SAT collaboration
Desired Skills
- Experience in Direct Data-like domains (CRM, API)
- Familiarity with Stream-Aligned Teams / Team Topologies
- Experience working with Architecture, Platform, SRE and other enabling teams
- Experience improving observability, reliability and incident management for backend/data services
