We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join us as part of our team.
About the project
PitchBook is an analytical platform designed for investment professionals. It aggregates data from various sources, presenting it in a user-friendly manner. The platform is invaluable to anyone operating in the financial market – whether it’s startups, large corporations, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, market analysts, or others.
Our Engineering team is continuously growing and enhancing our technical landscape. We’ve successfully completed the migration to Kubernetes in production and are now focusing on optimizing its usage, while also adopting new managed services. From a process perspective, we’re finalizing the transition to Team Topologies and a Scrum-based Agile framework, empowering our teams to become more autonomous. We’re also fostering a strong One-Team mentality across the organisation.
The team owns and develops the marketing website, currently migrating from a custom-built platform to the Brightspot CMS to support scale. We build new UI modules, integration layers, and data previews, extending the CMS’s capabilities and managing a data bridge between PitchBook subsystems and Brightspot.
We work closely with internal and external stakeholders in marketing, lead generation, editorial, and research to deliver content ranging from articles and analyst reports to newsletters.

Team is distributed, Ukraine and Europe. Required to visit Scrum events.

As a qualified expert, You will
- Own and drive the automated testing process for the CMS platform and marketing website.
- Design, implement, and maintain UI and API test automation, optimizing with AI tools where applicable.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) to enable fast and reliable delivery.
- Analyze results, identify gaps, and resolve technical debt in test coverage.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to define test strategies and improve product quality.
- Contribute to planning, design reviews, and Scrum ceremonies.
- Enhance performance monitoring and logging with tools such as Kibana and Grafana.
- Ensure scalability and maintainability of test solutions.
- Use tools like TestRail, Jira, and Confluence for test and defect management.
- Debug interconnected services and develop innovative test solutions for complex systems.
We’re looking for you if you have
- 5+ years of experience in backend development and/or automated testing.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Java 17+), JUnit, or TestNG.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium or Selenide for UI test automation.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience with tools like Postman and Swagger.
- Practical experience with SQL (PostgreSQL or MS SQL, SQL Server).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive quality improvements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- English – Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher; Ukrainian – fluent.
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of Search Engine and AI optimisations of public website.
- Experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS).
- Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., Gatling, JMeter).
- Experience with TestContainers and containerized testing environments.
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, DataDog).
