About the role

We are looking for a React Native Engineer to join our team and contribute to an innovative consumer electronics IoT startup that is revolutionizing food storage for the connected age. Operating in the food and beverage industry, the company leverages AI and automation to enhance kitchen operations, reduce food waste, and improve meal quality and consistency in commercial kitchens.

With the project now launching, the focus has shifted to developing new features. This role is essential for ensuring a seamless user experience, app stability, and continuous innovation, directly impacting customer satisfaction, retention, and business growth.

Technical stack:

  • React Native, Expo, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS IoT, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, EC2, AWS CloudWatch, Docker.

Processes & Team

  • Methodology: Scrum;
  • Timezone: Israeli/Ukrainian;
  • Schedule: Flexible, with daily standups (Monday-Thursday) and ad-hoc calls with the client’s technical product manager;
  • Current Team: Technical Project Manager, Designer, React Native Developer, Senior Backend/DevOps Engineer, Manual QA.

As a qualified expert, You will

  • Design, develop, and maintain React Native mobile applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented JavaScript/TypeScript code.
  • Collaborate with backend developers and designers to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Implement features and functionalities that interact with various IoT devices and services.
  • Stay up to date with the latest React Native trends and best practices.
  • Optimize applications for performance and responsiveness across iOS and Android.
  • Conduct thorough unit testing to maintain high code quality and stability.

We’re looking for you if you have

  • 4+ years of experience as a React Native Engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
  • Deep understanding of React Native core concepts, components, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Redux, Redux Saga, and Expo.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and ability to create functional, intuitive interfaces.
  • Experience integrating applications with IoT devices.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • English — upper-intermediate (B2 and above).

Bonus Points

  • Experience with UI animation libraries (e.g., React Native Reanimated).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in publishing apps to the App Store and Google Play.
